Fried Calamari with 5 Pepper Hot Sauce


2 cups Canola Oil
1 tbsp Aegean Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 oz Crushed Chili Pepper
1 oz Castella Sliced Jalapenos
1 oz Castella Sliced Banana Peppers
½ cup all purpose flour
1 tsp Castella Cayenne Pepper
½ tsp Castella Black Pepper
1 tsp Salt
1 lb Calamari cut into tubes and tentacles


  1. Heat oil in a medium sized pot or deep fryer.
  2. In sauté pan, heat the olive oil and add the crushed chilies and peppers, cook for a few minutes and set aside.
  3. Mix flour with cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt.
  4. Coat the calamari with the seasoned flour.
  5. Fry calamari for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels, and season with a little more salt, pepper and cayenne.
  7. Serve the pepper sauce with the crispy fried calamari.
